The iris was the Art Nouveau symbol of transformation, a flower that moves through stages, that holds both bud and bloom in its form. This locket wears that symbolism on its face.
Crafted in 10k gold with a bloomed finish, the iris motif is rendered in repoussé — a technique where the metal is worked from behind to create dimensional relief, so the petals seem to rise from the surface rather than sit on it. The light catches differently at every angle. Inside, the locket opens to hold a photograph, a lock of hair, a pressed flower — whatever you choose to keep close.

Your Tarnish acquisition ships from our studio in Boston, Massachusetts within 1–3 business days. Each piece is packaged with archival materials from TALAS in Brooklyn to be reused for your heirlooms.

We practice minimal restoration, preserving original materials and evidence of age wherever possible. We clean and lightly polish every piece, with any further work explicitly disclosed.
