The Louise Pomeroy Choker
Mrs. Louise Pomeroy Inches was renowned in late 19th-century Boston society for her beauty. I visit John Singer Sargent’s 1887 portrait of her at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston often. Its Belle Époque romance found its way into my studio and took shape as this sterling silver and moonstone choker, made for an evening that calls for a bare décolletage.
I dismantled a vintage brooch, linking it silver stampings together to create this new floral arrangement. Four moonstone cabochon charms, salvaged from a 1950s necklace, add glowing blue dew drops to complete the design.
A one-of-a-kind Tarnish Fine original, fabricated from vintage components. The sterling silver retains the tarnish and light surface scratches of its former life.
